Nelson Mandela, an ordinary man who achieved extraordinarily
Being inspired by Madiba, we found ourselves at Kgetlengrivier Primary School all the way from Tshwane. Striving or rather trying to make a difference, by inspiring the kids to reach and dream for the impossible.
A CWP supervisor in Kgetlengrivier (Ward 1) assisted us with directions and even went an extra mile by offering to take us to the school. #SpiritOfMadiba
Kgetlengrivier Primary School is a familiar face in any rural part of Mzansi, a school with too much children and very few teachers.
The staff received us warmly, the children stormed us warmly and with so much enthusiasm.
The thing about Madiba is, he had the ability to reach across differences and to break down the walls that seperates human beings.
We were challenged with this definitely, barriers of language and other cultural barriers being prominent.
Netherless we were able to sow hope, by giving school shoes to 67 children. Shoes to start their own walk of freedom in South Africa.
Our special appreciation goes to Kgetlengrivier’s Store and Safety Officer, Phenyo Maletswa, for ensuring that this day becomes a success. To the Keltlengrivier Primary School management team, we appreciate the time you afforded us at the school. To the Ward Councillor, we appreciate your support. We would also like to extend our appreciation to everyone who took part to ensure that the day becomes a success.
